Sailing and canoeing on the River Thames in Kingston

First evening cruise on Friday 23rd June

First evening cruise on Friday

Our first evening cruise of 2023 is this Friday, 23 June. We’ll be heading to the Swan, where we have

outside tables booked for 8 pm. The forecast says hot and windy with a south-westerly gusting 20mph, which could be perfect. Sailors should aim to leave the boat park by 6.00 pm at the latest, and paddlers by 6.45 pm. It’s first-come-first-served for the limited places in the launch, which will leave about 7pm.

If you hope to come, please let me know as soon as possible, as we need to confirm numbers with the pub. Please also indicate if you intend to sail, paddle, travel by launch, or make your own way to the pub.

It will be getting dark by the time we head back, so don’t forget a torch to shine on the sail or a light fore and aft for kayaks.

After dark paddlers should travel alongside at least one other kayak — safety in numbers: there are motor boats about on the river even late at night.

Hope to see you there!
