Sailing and canoeing on the River Thames in Kingston

Launch familiarisation training

We plan to run a launch familiarisation training session on Wednesday evening, 29 March 2023. There is no charge for this, but please book your place in advance so we can plan the evening to make the best use of the limited time available.

Please get to the club and be ready to go on the water dressed for the weather by 6pm.  We expect to cover:

  • Getting out/putting away launches including use of tender
  • Starting/stopping procedure
  • Handling on the water
  • Coming alongside/leaving jetties
  • Assisting a person in the water
  • Assisting capsizes

This training is open to any Minima member including family members aged 16 or over, with any level of experience including none!  After putting the launches away we can cover any questions or additional theory in the club house over your choice of liquid refreshment.
