Up for the Cup – Minima’s (Crew) Trophy winning team at Long Beach

Back in June Minima celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee by flying the flag in Long Beach, California. As the original challenger, even after 128 years we have a standing invitation to the prestigious Seawanhaka Cup, the top trophy in amateur (and not so amateur) match racing, and the oldest American yachting trophy.

Our failure was truly heroic, against very stiff competition, but the Commodore did award us the Crew Trophy at the AGM.

Next Wednesday March 1st you are invited to come and celebrate our efforts, sample Purple Reign, our entry to the cocktail competition, and watch Seawanhaka The Movie (warning, adult language).

It’s not just an excuse to remember what it’s like when it’s warm and sunny. If you are interested in taking part, now’s your chance to come along and find out how – we’ve been offered a fantastic training opportunity for the next contest in 2024, which is in New York State, a mere 7 hours flight away.

See you on Wednesday 1st March! Bar opens 7.30pm, presentation and film at 8:00pm
