Sailing and canoeing on the River Thames in Kingston

Sailing

Most of our sailing is racing, in various forms, with class-racing, pursuit racing and handicaps on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, Sunday afternoons and Bank Holiday Mondays.  Race results are published online.

We also enjoy social sails to a riverside pub on occasional Thursdays or Fridays during the summer, weather permitting.

What we sail

Dinghy classes sailed at Minima are the two-handed Enterprise and Merlin Rocket and single-handed Laser and Solo, with other boats sailing in a small Handicap fleet.

The club owns a training fleet which can be used by members to enter club races, subject to being safe and competent to do so (and this is free in the first year of membership!). These include:

  • Topaz Argo (helm plus 1 or 2 crew) x 2
  • Laser/Laser Radial x 2
  • Topper x 2
  • Laser Pico (single or with 1 crew) x 2
  • Enterprise (double handed) x 2
  • Solo
